- Rakesh Sahni was appointed as the Chairman of Narmada Valley Development Authority.
- Lieutenant General Man Mohan Singh Rai was appointed as the Vice-Chief of the Indian Army.
- Former President of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam launched the Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan (RAA) in New Delhi.
- India and Kazakhstan signed five agreements during the two-day visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Kazakhstan.
- Central Government launched National Career Counselling Portal to modernize all government-run employment exchanges.
- Union Ministry of Urban Development launched the National Heritage Development and Augmentation Yojana (HRIDAY) for 12 cities in the country from Amritsar in Punjab. Central Central Government has retained the sub-limits for foreign portfolio investments in private-sector banking at 49%.

- The World Food Prize Foundation announced to confer the 2015 World Food Prize on Sir Fazle Hasan Abed of Bangladesh.
- Former Finance Minster of China Jin Liqun was nominated by China to be the first president of the Beijing-backed Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).
- HDFC Bank has become the first bank in India to launch Watch Banking for Apple Watch.
- MUDRA (Micro Units Development and Refinance Agency) card under the Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana (PMMY) scheme was launched by the Indian Corporation Bank.
- The Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi launched Deendayal Upadhyay Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY) in Patna.
